Frequently Asked Questions
Cost of Therapy and Insurance
Our licensed therapists take most major insurance plans, TNCare, and employee assistance programs, and we offer competitive private pay rates. Our pre-licensed therapists may be able to take some insurance but also offer a reduced rate while working under supervision to earn their state license. The Our Staff Page and the Appointments page tells more about each individual therapist.
Health Insurance: Thankfully today, almost all health insurance plans offer mental health benefits for counseling services. Often your out-of-pocket cost is the same copay, deductible, or coinsurance you pay for Primary Care Dr visit. Some insurance cards will list the copay on the card. In order for insurance to cover the services a diagnosis must be given to the insurance by our therapist. This is normal, just like when you go to the doctor's office.
- Special Note: Some insurance cards will have a phone number on the back for mental health or behavioral health services. If it lists a note next to the number that it is a different company, it will be helpful to know that ahead of time.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): Some employers offer assistance programs. These are programs in which you may be eligible for several therapy sessions at no cost to you! Contact your HR department to find out if this is available and who is in-network. The EAP will have to issue an authorization before your first appointment.
Private Pay Rates (out-of-pocket): Private Pay (also called self-pay)simply means you are paying out of pocket and not using insurance. Contact our office to find out the self-pay rate for the therapist you want to meet with. According to Fair Health Consumer the average cost for counseling in Jackson TN is $149 and we work hard to keep our costs more affordable for you.
Payment Methods: We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit and debit cards. Online payments can be made as well!
